What Can Be Done for a Nuclear Deal with North Korea?

North Korea's silence on its upcoming summits with the United States and South Korea is probably due to caution over organising its stance regarding the meetings, South Korea's Ministry of Unification said on Monday.

Mr Trump said last week that he had accepted an offer to meet with Mr Kim - an agreement that would make him the first sitting U.S. president to meet face-to-face with a North Korean leader.

Kono declined to say what that concrete action should be or whether Japan had softened its position on action as a prerequisite for talks.

"As long as all parties insist on solving the issue politically and maintain this direction, we can undoubtedly lead the situation on the Korean Peninsula to move forward in the direction in which the global community hopes for", Yang said.

"The offer was made and we've accepted", Sanders said.

By contrast, the North Korea already has up to 60 nuclear weapons.

Rhetoric in the North's state media has been tame, however, compared to threats previous year that went as far as saying Pyongyang would fire missiles into the vicinity of the US territory of Guam if provoked.

Can the talks take us from the edge of co-annihilation to the possibility of co-existence? South Korea's President Moon Jae-in also plans a summit with Kim by the end of April. Mr Pompeo said United States military exercises in the region would continue in the lead-up to the talks.

Buffalo Bills trade former Georgia tackle Cordy Glenn to Cincinnati Bengals
Nathan Peterman, the team's fifth-round pick in 2017, will be the only quarterback on the roster once Taylor is officially traded. Glenn, 28, had been the Bills' starting left tackle since being selected in the second round of the 2012 draft.

Trump does not care if North Korea's president feels good about some political maneuver.

On Saturday, Trump said his talks with Kim could end with no agreement or they could be "the greatest deal for the world". But they warn the process leading to removal of all nuclear weapons from the area is complex.

"However, I would strongly urge the Administration to remember that Kim Jong Un, like his father and grandfather before him, have long sought a visit from the president of the United States to enhance their own prestige and justify their unsafe pursuit of nuclear weapons".

"Nothing's been agreed and I don't want to start floating ideas out through the media", Tillerson said in Abuja alongside Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama.

In Beijing, President Moon's National Security Adviser Chung Eui-yong sat down with Chinese President Xi Jinping for 35 minutes on Monday as a parallel delegation headed to Tokyo to brief Japanese officials on the attempts to open talks with Pyongyang on its nuclear and missile program.

The Trump administration on Sunday confirmed that there will be no additional conditions imposed on North Korea before a first-ever meeting of the leaders of the two nations.

As far as is publicly known, Kim has not left North Korea since he came to power in 2011, meaning any trip outside the country might be problematic. Kim is evidently willing to suspend nuclear and missile tests for now - a minimal, easily reversed concession, mostly likely made only to buy time to fit a nuclear warhead on an ICBM capable of reaching the U.S.

Trump's aides have been wary of North Korea's diplomatic overtures because of its history of reneging on worldwide commitments and the failure of efforts on disarmament by previous United States administrations.
