Blow to Arvind Kejriwal as adviser VK Jain steps down

VK Jain, Witness In Delhi Chief Secretary Assault Case And Delhi CM Kejriwal's Advisor Resigns

Kejriwal tweeted, " Had a v good meeting wid reps of Congress. BJP boycotted.

Among those present from Congress were the party's Delhi unit chief, Ajay Maken, and Arvinder Singh Lovely.

Talking to KNN, Narendra Madan, Chairman of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said that the traders in Delhi will go on strike against the sealing drive by calling off a bandh today. While Kejriwal previously assured them of all help and even wrote to PM Narendra Modi, he has now called for an all-party meeting in a letter which read that 'there is a need for us to rise above party lines to find a solution to the sealing issue.' He has also requested that only three members of each party attend the meeting 'so that we can come to a fruitful solution'. "It's sad that the BJP didn't attend the meeting and played politics", said Mr. Sisodia.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal shot back, asking the Congress chief to raise the "sealing issue" in Parliament and force the BJP to take steps to stop the drive, which he said his party would support.

Meanwhile, the BJP has made a decision to boycott the all-party meet called by Kejriwal even as the AAP slammed Tiwari for touring overseas at a time when city traders were facing problems.

"BJP wants to make way for FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) through the sealing drive", Sisodia said and added that the drive is being done with the support of BJP.

Khandelwal said it would hold a "vyapaari panchayat" in Karol Bagh in which thousands of traders are expected to participate.

He said the announcement by Delhi Government that it will soon notify the 351 roads indicates that the AAP Government not only neglected its duty of protecting the traders from sealing but it also complicated the issue to an extent that Centre was also facing difficulties in bringing an end to the sealing crisis. He said the sealing issue suddenly got complicated in the Supreme Court in November 2017 after the Delhi Government filed an affidavit seeking two more years to even start the work on regularisation of illegal colonies and unauthorized constructions in the city.
