Stay in the background Smith!!!Netflix
Foy stars as Queen Elizabeth II, taking home a Golden Globe for her performance and clearly garnering more screentime than Smith, who plays Elizabeth's husband Prince Philip.
Producers of the blockbuster show have admitted that Foy was paid less than her male co-star Matt Smith.
The pay gap emerged during Variety magazine's talk with producer Suzanne Mackie and fellow executive producer Andy Harries at a media conference in Jerusalem. For its next two seasons, the roles have been recast with older actors. They did not give details of the gap. And she is THE QUEEN, for crying out loud. The producers said they would rectify that in the future, Variety reported.
Speaking at this week's Mencap charity fashion show, in London, Olivia added: "I don't know who will play Prince Phillip yet".
Trump raises trade war fears with tariffs
More than 50 percent of steel and aluminum exports come from allies in the European Union , Canada, Japan, and South Korea. In Brussels, European Commission Vice President Jyrki Katainen said US protectionism would be bad for America itself.
Foy's agent did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.
"The Crown" had a lavish budget, with each episode costing around £5 million to make, but the producers insist that money was seen "on the screen", rather than in pay packets.
Forbes's annual highest-paid list draws further attention to the gender pay gap. While it has not yet been disclosed exactly how much Smith was paid, Foy earned $40,000 per episode of The Crown. Wahlberg donated $2 (€1.6) million to a fund dedicated to fighting pay inequality and harassment of women in the name of Williams.
Mark Wahlberg made news earlier this year when it was revealed that he was paid $1.5 million United States for reshoots on movie All the Money in the World, while co-star Michelle Williams received $1,000 US.
