Wilkerson, Packers Agree to 1-Year Deal

Ex-Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson signs 1-year deal with Packers
Wilkerson visited the Packers two days later, but he also made visits to the Saints, Chiefs and Redskins before choosing the Packers. Wilkerson's signing won't count toward the compensatory pick formula, which played a key role in steering the Thompson-era Packers away from free agency, like Graham's will since the defensive lineman is a street free agent.
With Wilkerson now in the fold, the Packers have a formidable defensive line that also includes Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark. Green Bay is hoping he can turn that around while still being an asset in the run game, in which he was the 23rd best.
The Packers won the race for Wilkerson's service. He took a one-year deal and will have a chance to prove he's the player he was.
The veteran defensive linemen has agreed to terms on a deal to join the team once the new league year begins, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky. Coach Mike McCarthy fired defensive coordinator Dom Capers in January after nine seasons. The New York Jets defense finished top 10 in most major categories, and Wilkerson's performance was a big reason for that.
They will need to address the cornerback position at some point, but Gutekunst is well aware. The team terminated that contract after only two years.
Wilkerson, 28, was benched for the final three games of last season, ostensibly because he was late for a meeting on December 15; it marked the fourth time since 2015 he was disciplined for tardiness. In the last two years combined he's accounted for just eight sacks in 25 games.
If not, the Packers will have only paid $5 million for the opportunity to find out.
Woods, Els to be named Presidents Cup captains
The Presidents Cup has been reduced to 30 matches over four days, and the format is not likely to change for the next one. Woods referred to it at the time as one of his most nerve-wracking moments.
