Huey Lewis reveals 'horrible' news about hearing loss

In a put up on Twitter, Lewis acknowledged: "Two and a half months previously, merely sooner than a gift in Dallas, I misplaced most of my listening to".

He continued by saying he had seen hearing specialists at Stanford, the Mayo Clinic and the House Ear Institute.

Lewis and his band were set to perform at Avila Beach on May 27.

"This is something I heard about when I got into work this morning - it was the first anyone had heard of it", said marketing and communication co-ordinator D'arci Lawrence. The illness is a disorder of the inner ear that, along with hearing loss, also can cause vertigo (spinning), tinnitus (ringing in the ear) and the feeling of pressure.

In a statement released Friday, April 13, 2018, Huey Lewis and The News announced the cancellation of its 2018 tour while frontman Lewis deals with the sudden loss of his hearing.
