Leaked Apple memo: 12 employees were arrested past year for leaking secrets
15 April 2018, 03:06 | Cesar Cruz
The situation is so serious that Apple has been forced to contract employees of other companies to meet all the demands of the customers who are unhappy with their iPhones performance.
Bloomberg published the "internal blog" post in its entirety last week. Apple which is known for maintaining the secrecy of its products had found 29 leakers in 2017 and 12 of them were arrested. As expected, her father who was then an Apple employee lost his job.
In a leaked internal memo, the company had reportedly told employees it "caught 29 leakers" a year ago and 12 were arrested. They also state that once a leaker is fired, Apple will try hard to make finding employment elsewhere almost impossible.
Despite the warning, the threatening memo about leaking was leaked to Bloomberg. Apple has sent a caution to the employees on the consequences of the privacy breach in the memo. Multiple employees were caught sharing details about the iPhone X, iPad Pro and Airpods with a 9to5 Mac reporter, according to the memo.
The administration of the company Apple chose to punish their employees for disclosing classified information to the media.
Why Cynthia Nixon Wants To Be Governor
It's possible that pressure from progressives and people like Nixon are convincing him to possibly evolve on the issue. As expected, New York's Working Families Party officially endorsed gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon on Saturday.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had at that time said that Apple was having problems manufacturing a "Blush Gold" iPhone X which will go on sale at a later date to give Apple time to resolve the issues.
James Damore, an ex-Google engineer who shared a 10-page memo criticizing company policies, says he can't get a job after being fired (much like Apple's aforementioned threat) because Google is essentially "the don" or "godfather" of Silicon Valley.
Apple on its memo also mentioned that the leaked information about a new product can negatively impact sales of the current products.
Leaking Apple's work undermines everyone at Apple and the years they've invested in creating Apple products. Among those were Apple employees, contractors and some partners in Apple's supply chain.
In addition to not-so-subtly threatening its own employees with arrest, Apple warns them of fake friends in the press. Ironically, this confidential internal memo leaked.
