Body of 11-year-old girl found in Surat injuries on her private parts

A case has been registered the unidentified accused has been booked for rape under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The dead body of the minor girl was discovered in Surat amid the widespread anger against rape of a 17-yerar-old girl in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh and rape and murder of 08-year-old girl in Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir.

The Surat police have not been able to establish the identity of the girl in more than a week after the discovery of her body. In view of this the Surat Commissioner Satish Sharma has said, "We will widen our probe to trace the perpetrators of the crime".

The police are going via the list of the absent persons to see if the girl's name was mentioned among them. Nine days after her body was recovered from Pandesara, near Surat, on April 6, the police remain clueless about her identity.

"1200 posters have been posted across Surat for identification of girl".

Sydney bushfire still out of control and may have been deliberately lit
Fire conditions eased later in the day, allowing firefighters to step up efforts to bring the blaze under control. Several residents report fighting off embers with hoses and water buckets.

In the Kathua case, the police charge sheet says the girl from the Bakarwal nomadic tribe was kidnapped, held in a temple in Kathua's Rasana village, drugged, repeatedly raped and then murdered to scare her community out of the neighbourhood.

Ganesh Govekar, a doctor at the city civil hospital where the post-mortem was conducted, said there were as many as 86 injury marks on the body of the girl. State home minister PS Jadeja said the police have no information about her family.

The police officer added that even after eight days, the parents of the girl are yet to be identified. "We need to identify the girl to solve the case". "She had 86 external injuries on her body". "The girl was subjected to severe torture before being killed".

On Friday midnight, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders held a candlelight vigil at the India Gate in the national capital to demand strict action in Unnao and Kathua rape cases. "Samples have been taken for forensic test to ascertain whether she was drugged or not". However, the gory details of the crime were revealed when a charge sheet in the case was filed last week, triggering a massive outcry against the horror faced by the minor girl.
