Lincolnshire celebrates 'National Nurses Day'
He was addressing the International Nurses Day celebration gathering at the DBT hall, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, Saturday, which was held under the theme "Health is a Human Right".
On the occasion, Union Health minister JP Nadda gave away National Florence Nightingales Awards for Nurses.
Co-ordinated in the United Kingdom by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), events will be held across the country, including in Lincolnshire where the four Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) - East, South, South West, and West - are supporting plans to celebrate nurses.
Each year, the International Council of Nurses prepares and distributes the International Nurses' Day Kit containing educational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere which gets available on its website.
CCGs will also be showing their support via their Facebook and Twitter feeds. He further stated that nursing plays a very vital role in keeping the country healthy. "Nurses are the true nation-builders", Mr. Kovind said.
The President congratulated the award winners and said that the awardees display India's unity in diversity. As a result, the number of registered nurses and other health workers had crossed 27 lakh till March 2017.
