Report: Cardinals 2nd-round pick Christian Kirk was arrested prior to draft

Report: Christian Kirk arrested for drunken behavior following golf tournament in Phoenix

Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Christian Kirk took the field Tuesday for the first time since a report surfaced about his arrest in the months before the team chose him in the second round of the National Football League draft.

The police report said an officer could smell alcohol on Kirk, whose eyes were bloodshot and watery.

Scottsdale police told azcentral.com that Kirk and some of his friends were allegedly throwing rocks at cars on February 3 as they were leaving the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Kirk has been charged with criminal damage.

Villa hold off Boro to reach Championship playoff final
A 0-0 scoreline was enough, because it means they win the tie 1-0 on aggregate, thanks to Mile Jedinak's goal in the first leg. There's still 90 minutes to play and anything can happen", he said.

The men told police they were walking from the Bird's Nest, a popular party spot that is open in conjunction with the tournament every year, to Kirk's apartment and denied throwing rocks.

"We spoke with Christian about it at length and also looked into it independently", a team spokesperson told the Republic. "We did our own independent research on it and we felt very good about the information that we received", coach Steve Wilks said. The Cardinals stressed that they won't be issuing any further comment while the case remains pending.

Kirk has no previous records of trouble in high school or college. The other was Christian Kirk, who came off the board before they would have had the chance to draft him in the second round. "We're not going to worry about getting a phone call in the middle of the morning that someone out in Scottsdale is doing something insane".

At Texas A&M, Kirk caught 234 passes for 2,856 total receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in three seasons.
