Hue Jackson to jump into Lake Erie for charity

Hue Jackson will jump in Lake Erie on June 1

Hue Jackson to jump into Lake Erie on June 1 to fulfill promise

And now Jackson says he'll make good on the spirit of his promise.

After the Browns went 1-15 in 2016, Jackson vowed that he would jump in Lake Erie if they didn't improve in 2017. It'd be easy for him to play off his promise as just a way of venting after a 1-15 season.

Although Jackson's prediction that the Browns wouldn't go 1-15 was technically correct - because they went 0-16 - the Browns coach didn't try to use that as a loophole, which is definitely what I would have done. But for every Browns employee that jumps in with him, Jackson will donate $100 toward his charity, which works to fight human trafficking within the area.

Hue Jackson is a man of his word.

Malaysian politician Anwar Ibrahim released after royal pardon
Anwar, 70, was due to be released from the Sungai Buloh prison on June 8, with time off for good behaviour. He has been in hospital for a few months recovering from a shoulder operation.

However, if Jackson is unable to make a drastic improvement this time around, he may be diving head first into free agency next year.

There were complaints from fans that Jackson jumping into the lake in June is not a punishment compared to jumping into the lake in January. And he will not be the only Browns member to take the plunge.

So now he's going in, and it's for a good cause: The Hue Jackson Foundation, which Jackson and wife Michelle started last summer, combats human trafficking in Northeast Ohio. Thus, Jackson will be jumping into the lake in June and will benefit his charity.

"We are working towards making 2018 a much better year for the Cleveland Browns and I'm hoping to also cleanse ourselves of all the losing for the past two seasons by jumping in", Jackson said.
