Malaysia's pardons board to discuss Anwar's release on…
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed (R) and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim offer prayers at the Malaysian 1998 Budget report in Parliament in Kuala Lumpur, October 17, 1998.
PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (centre) speaks to reporters while leaving the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
Earlier, when met, PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution said Anwar will be released from the rehabilitation hospital tomorrow upon the pardons board's decision.
On Monday, Datuk Ahmad Dahlan Ab Aziz, Comptroller of the Royal Household, said Malaysia's King Sultan Muhammad V had consented that all procedures regarding the Pardons Board proceedings on Mr Anwar be finalised on May 16.
Anwar is seeking a royal pardon on the grounds of "miscarriage of justice", which would reverse his conviction and make him eligible to actively participate in politics.
He has been in hospital for a few months recovering from a shoulder operation.

Malaysia's new Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad sought a pardon for Mr Anwar, which was granted on Wednesday morning.
"I will continue to ensure that the current prime minister (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) fulfils the promises for reforms he has made and we will ensure there are proper checks and balances".
It was a shared desire to remove scandal-ridden former-PM Najib Razak that forged the unlikely alliance between Anwar and Dr Mahathir, who came out of retirement to bring down his former protege.
Anwar served as Dr Mahathir's deputy and finance minister before being removed from his post and incarcerated on sodomy and corruption charges, which human rights groups and foreign governments criticised as being politically motivated.
Anwar, 70, was due to be released from the Sungai Buloh prison on June 8, with time off for good behaviour.
