'Mile 22' Trailer: Mark Wahlberg Is a CIA Operative in Peter Berg's New Thriller
STX Films has released the first trailer for Mile 22, the upcoming thriller from Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon filmmaker Peter Berg. The trailer sees the behind the scenes happenings and planning for a life-threatening mission carried out by an elite team of Central Intelligence Agency agents. Producers are Peter Berg, Mark Wahlberg, and Stephen Levinson.
Mile 22 features a script by Graham Roland and Lea Carpenter.
Among the members of Silva's team are Lauren Cohan ("The Walking Dead") and former UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, while other stars in the film include John Malkovich and Indonesian actor Iko Uwais as a mysterious "asset" who holds sensitive information that puts everyone's lives at risk. Mark Wahlberg, of course!
The trailer is jam-packed full of wonderful action set-pieces and it seems to really utilise its cast well. Why did they give John Malkovich that terrible hairpiece?
So you can check out the trailer below to see what Ronda Rousey was up to before WrestleMania. Uwais has been THE name in martial arts for years and after his success in The Raid franchise, he looks to be finally making his proper entrance to western cinema (not counting his great cameo with his fellow The Raid allumni in Star Wars: The Force Awakens)! In that spirit, Mile 22 will arrive in theaters on August 3.
