HOOPS HOAX: Man, 25, allegedly posed as teen to play basketball

25-year-old posed as teen to play high school basketball: officials
Gilstrap-Portley, who apparently had a moderately successful stint as a guard for Dallas Christian College's basketball team from 2013-2014, got his wish when he landed a starting role on Hillcrest's team. Authorities say the supposedly 17-year-old was actually 25-year-old Sidney Gilstrap-Portley, eager for another shot at athletic glory.
The 25-year-old was arrested last week and charged of tampering with government records and is now out on bond. He was taken into custody at the Dallas County Jail but has since been released after posting bail.
Dallas ISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa said federal law lifts verification requirements for students who are homeless because of a natural disaster. The Mesquite coach alerted the Hillcrest basketball team that Gilstrap-Portley was a former player.
Gilstrap-Portley allegedly told officials he was a refugee of Hurricane Harvey and homeless. "It's unbelievable to me that he could get away with this", the woman said.
She notes her daughter-who says she didn't have a sexual relationship with Gilstrap-Portley-had thought "Rashaun" was a 17-year-old freshman, a fact that still made the mother uncomfortable.
So, they let him attend Skyline High School, then transferred him to Hillcrest High School. "He was fairly savvy to be able to utilize that type of position, knowing that we were accepting Harvey students".
"I'm upset, frustrated, angry and sad at the same time", she said in an interview with the Dallas Morning News.
Voter registration deadline is June 1
The group said it received some reports of voters receiving incorrect ballots and having their registration unexpectedly changed. Blackford County had 8,023 voters registered for the May 8 Primary Election, of which 28.83 percent of voters cast ballots.
Sandra Verduzco, a spokeswoman for the communications department of the Dallas Independent School District's Police Department, confirmed to Law&Crime that cops are looking into a "possible improper relationship" between Gilstrap-Portley and a student.
'People need to know.
"After the initial shock wore off, my heart hurt - and the staff's hearts", said principal Chris Bayer.
"This is a unique situation that shows us areas we need to take another look at when we open our doors to students in these situations".
"This was a thirst that he had and he put everything at risk for himself and for us to live this charade", said Hinojosa.
He told NBC5: 'We need to make sure we follow better protocols to try and prevent this from happening, but unfortunately this was nearly like a ideal storm. "To the parents, I apologize".
Google rolls back Chrome update breaking web games
Yet with an adjustment of such potentially high impact landing in Chrome 66, clearly more communication was needed. For that reason, the current Chrome version 66 will no longer automatically mute Web Audio objects.
