(CNN)Sweden, say hello to Prince Oscar.

King Carl XVI Gustaf announced the name of his new grandson — Prince Oscar Carl Olof — during a Cabinet meeting Thursday, the Scandinavian nation’s royal household said. And even at just a few hours old, he already had a special title: the duke of Skane, an area in the southernmost part of Sweden.

Oscar was born to Crown Princess Victoria, the eldest child and heir apparent to Sweden’s King, at 8:28 p.m. (2:28 p.m. ET) Wednesday, the royals announced in a news release. The new royal measured up at 52 centimeters (20.5 inches) long and weighed 3,655 grams (8.1 pounds) upon arrival.
